Western Australia Aerial Watercolours

In contrast to the translucent watercolours, the series from Western Australia (This Scarred Earth) employs the medium in a more opaque manner, to represent aerial views of the land from a plane, sometimes resembling satelite maps. Underlying layers are revealed with scratching and rubbing out to suggest the scarring created by natural forces such as flood or drought, and human effects like mining and agriculture.
