Landscapes & Townscapes

Traditional watercolour methods are often used to depict particular places visited, in a figurative style; water and reflections feature frequently in these.

Larger, more experimental and semi-abstract pieces may be derived from big buildings and other structures and created without brushes, using sprays and stencils.

Many feature the translucency which is often a hallmark of watercolour and enables the viewer to allow their imagination to penetrate the picture and see in it whatever they perceive at a particular moment.
